NAUTILUS TWO PACK VARNISH

NAUTILUS TWO-PACK VARNISH (polyurethane 2-pack gloss varnish) is a highly solid varnish, with outstanding UV resistance because of the high content of UVA filters. The 2:1 ratio (by weight or volume) guarantees easy mixing even when small quantities are needed. It has good plasticity, a very beautiful aspect and it underlines the wood tone.
NAUTILUS two-pack varnish’s great characteristic is that following coats can be applied (after about 20 to 40 minutes depending on the temperature) wet-on-wet and so on, obtaining in the same day a noticeable “body” of varnish, filling the pores perfectly and giving the wood outstanding protection. Being able to apply coat on coat allows to strengthen those points that are most stressed and more subject to moisture penetration like board ends, joints, fixings, where water is retained, etc. as well as reducing work times.

NAUTILUS TWO-PACK VARNISH

NAUTILUS TWO PACK VARNISH

NAUTILUS two-pack varnish is very suitable for masts, booms, bowsprits, handrails, and wherever a strong, very beautiful, easy and transparent wood protection is required.
NAUTILUS two-pack varnish is superlative also for the house, on doors, windows, chairs, tables and ornamental timbers.
To achieve a higher mechanical resistance of the base it is advisable to apply (on new or on stripped wood) a first C-Systems' 10 10 CFS coat and after sanding follow with NAUTILUS two-pack varnish coats.
NAUTILUS two-pack varnish can also be applied on previous one-pack varnishes (being at least 4/6 months old), without the “stripping” problems (always try it on a small surface), as long as they are in good condition and do not show any cracking or grey areas, which first of all will have to be stripped back.
NAUTILUS TWO-PACK is also available in the SATIN version which is semi-gloss satin finish, it can be used both inside and out, has the same important characteristics of UV resistance and also in this case it can be applied, after a small test, on one-pack varnishes. It is ideal to protect boat flooring.

NAUTILUS TWO-PACK VARNISH SATIN

NAUTILUS CLEAR PROOF

Transparent, semi-gloss, polyurethane varnish with very high UV protection, thixotropic (thick), transpires up to 9 g of water per square metre every 24 hours. It is applied on new or stripped wood (otherwise the old coat prevents transpiration) with a short haired roller or with a brush.
It is advisable to apply at least two coats, with a final covering of about 4 to 5 square metres per litre. It is also suitable to be applied on teak or iroko or other wooden decks to prevent water infiltration. In this case apply a thicker coat making sure that the product will penetrate where there is a split or the rubber seam is detached. Nautilus Clear Proof is highly recommended for fully stripped wood which shows stains caused by infiltrations. The permeability, allowing water to escape and vaporize means the wood is perfectly maintained. Nautilus Clear Proof is also suitable for parts under stress like; stringers, masts, cabins, deckhouses, and all wooden parts whose aesthetical aspect and mechanical performances want to be kept at their maximum with little maintenance.
First the wood is to be cleaned perfectly.
In case of decks, sand and wash with Teak Cleaner or Teak Brightener to obtain the maximum colour uniformity.
Apply Nautilus Clear Proof with a brush or with a short haired roller.
With temperature from 15 to 20°C it is possible to apply the next coat the day after, if necessary, a very light sanding with 400 paper. Once open, the pack has a limited duration due to the strong air reactivity.
It is advised to clean the lip of the lid thoroughly so that it does not stick together. If this happens then open from the bottom using a tin opener.

NAUTILUS POLYURETHANE ENAMEL

polyurethane 2-pack enamel paint, white and navy blue.
It is the ideal enamel, very solid to protect and give a bright finish to all works carried out on the boat. Its ideal undercoat is NAUTILUS Epoxy Primer two (white or blue) at least two coats to be applied, finely sanded to obtain the best preparation and NAUTILUS Enamel, applied by brush or by spraying, will give the highest intensity in brightness which
it is maintained over time. It is suitable for properly prepared wood, fibreglass or metal surfaces.

Colors:

White (RAL 9016) - White ( RAL 9010) - Blu (RAL 5011) - Red (RAL 3020) - Yellow (RAL 1003) - Black (RAL 9005), Green (RAL 6005)

NAUTILUS POLYURETHANE SEALANT

is a polyurethane one-pack rubber in 310 ml cartridges, it is suitable for parts in or out of water. It is ideal for keel joints, sea valves, portholes, skylights, limber holes and all deck fittings.
Nautilus Polyurethane Sealant dries fast, does not shrink, it is very tough and flexible. It is applied on varnished or painted surfaces, on fibreglass (sanding finely), on ferrous and alloy materials after priming the surface with a suitable anti-corrosive treatment (like both NAUTILUS Epoxy Primer Two types), on fatwood (teak, iroko) after a Polyurethane Primer coat. It is available in white (with UVA filters) and black.

NAUTILUS POLYURETHANE DECK SEAL

For the seams of the teak deck the specific type DECK SEAL is available in both the 310 ml tube version and 600 ml bag (for big jobs), it optimises the application times and ensures quality and lasting duration. It is extremely elastic after drying, it maintains for years its efficacy in the joints of those boat parts always subject to the simultaneous action of water, sun, wind.

NAUTILUS EPOXY PRIMER TWO

is a multifunctional paint because it can also be applied as an anti-corrosive (because of its anti-corrosion pigments) and helps the following paint to adhere on iron, cast iron, aluminium, stern feet, steel, lead, galvanised parts and metals in general (flaps, shafts, rudders, propellers, supports, etc.). It can be applied as a primer on new GRP for the subsequent application of anti-fouling (after removing mould wax and paraffin) as well as a sealer on old anti-fouling paints for the following cycles.
NAUTILUS Epoxy Primer Two (2-pack, mixing volume ratio 3:1, weight ratio 100 g + 20 g, white and blue colour to properly alternate the coats) is the right answer because it doesn't only have the capability to prime on epoxy but it also forms a solid union with the same, and it has a much higher resistance in comparison with classical primers.
Applying NAUTILUS Epoxy Primer Two onto C-Systems' the optical effect is like seeing the hull with gel-coat anew. NAUTILUS Epoxy Primer Two if applied in 7 to 8 coats (400 microns) directly onto a new GRP hull, guarantees anti-osmosis protection.
It cannot be applied on a damaged hull (if not previously repaired with C-Systems') because the NAUTILUS Epoxy Primer Two solvents would soak the uncovered glass fibre remaining trapped by the surface catalytic action and would cause osmosis problems again.
The covering times can take from 8 hours up to 30 days with 18°C temperature and the complete product cross-linking in 7 days. In painting or treating fibreglass it is determining that the moulding was carried out at least 30 days before.

NAUTILUS Epoxy H.B.

is a high quality epoxy product specific for bilges, also suitable for surface protection or for containers to preserve food and for water tanks.
NAUTILUS EPOXY HB is Fire Retardant, is odourless, does not emanate odours or toxic smokes in the presence of flames, it covers perfectly, and it is highly visible in every condition, also in dark areas. To apply it use a brush with about bristles cut back to 1 cm long. In case of low temperatures tepidly warm it in an uniform way before mixing.
It is ideal to apply under engines and to protect the engine trays. When dry, it is oil, grease and bilge dirt proof. It can be applied on remains of previous paint because it does not contain solvents, so it does not remove them; nevertheless is advisable to remove weak or detached parts, to sand the old coat with sand paper on projecting parts and the remaining surfaces with Scotch Brite 3M (using the coarse side) or a similar product. Before sanding, prepare the well degreased underground leaving the Boat Life Bilge Cleaner to work for some days in the bilge, which will dilute oils, grease and sludge. With low temperatures tepidly warm in a uniform way.
Any later coats can be applied as soon as the previous one becomes sticky. If more than 48 hours go by it is necessary to go over with the wet sponge Scotch Brite 3M (using the coarse side) to properly prepare the following coat. The complete catalysis takes place in 7 days with a temperature of about 20°C (but it can be completely walked on by the following day). Lower temperatures delay complete cross-linking, higher temperatures speed it up. If the yellow colour is “too strong” you can use white. When it is applied in metal water tanks, after cleaning and preparing it is necessary to apply NAUTILUS Epoxy Primer Two; to cover it after at least 48 hours (the inside of the tank delays solvent evaporation).

The antifouling

Only the anti-fouling is still missing, the launch, a few adjustments, and away, letting the hull speed again. In choosing the anti-fouling in the past we aimed to be protected against fouling, today because of the environmental commitment we also have to make sure that the poisons respect nature.

NAUTILUS Self Polishing

is perfectly up to the highest quality required because it offers a guaranteed result together with easy application.
NAUTILUS Self Polishing combines the advantages of anti-fouling paint with the soluble matrix because it allows the paint film to be progressively consumed so a new layer is always available. It is indicated both for sailing boats and for speeds up to 35 knots (motor yacht and fast cruisers).
NAUTILUS Self Polishing reduces turbulence because it releases the anti-fouling in a controlled manner and because a smooth hull causes less friction and therefore a increased speed; after an entire season the hull is ready to receive a new protective layer without leaving crusts and old layers which should be removed in the future.
Self Polishing features.
During the season NAUTILUS Self Polishing is automatically consumed due to water friction on the hull, releasing always new layers and reducing its thickness. The following season it is enough to carry out a light washing and to newly apply. NAUTILUS allows maximum performance and highest quality maintaining the same features even months and months after its launch.
Concerning shafts, propellers, flaps and rudders, Nautilus Drive primer has to be applied on a perfectly clean surface without grease. This is a one-pack primer and after 4 to 6 hours the first of the two Nautilus Drive antifouling coats can already be applied. The launch is not to occur within 24 to 48 hours from the last coat.
