RED GLUE | |
Wood was the first
material used to build boats, and again it enjoys a leap forward thanks
to new construction techniques, made possible by the new technological
materials available. C-systems Red Glue was an important
step forward for wooden boat construction, an excellent glue for all work
requiring great reliability. The sailors very quickly nicknamed
it in an unforgettable way RED GLUE for its characteristic
dusky red colour. C-systems Red Glue , is EN301-302 of
the types I and II approved for the construction of hulls, boats, laminates,
helms, keels, frames, and for bonding all timbers exposed to the elements
and to the most stress. You mix it by weight in proportions of 100 g of
resin to 20 g of powder (hardener). C-systems Red Glue
produces an extremely strong bond that is resistant to periodic and continuous
exposure in boiling and cold water, to jets of hot or cold air, and is
proof against fungus and rot, and is unaffected by almost all solvents.
Marine plywood is important and essential both in GRP constructions (ceilings,
walls, furniture, etc) and structurally, as for architraves and wooden
spans, and it is bonded with chemical resin glue like Red Glue
and meets the requirements of the various International Registers. C-systems
Red Glue is also available in 1.2 kg packs. You can use it anywhere
and the detailed notes on each pack suggest new and important applications.
In particularly cold periods with temperatures below 10° C, it is
advisable to slowly and uniformly warm the components until the reaction
is perfect. This is a general rule that applies to all paint and glue
products, because the thermal inertia, which these products incorporate
over night, has to be considered.
